Lebanon First bloc MP Ahmad Fatfat told OTV on Tuesday that Hezbollah approved of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) in the 2009 Ministerial Statement because of leaks coming out that the party might be involved in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
“Hezbollah approved of the STL during the national unity dialogue,” Fatfat said, voiced his hope that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s evidence is based on solid grounds and would be used to implicate Israel in the killing of Rafik Hariri.
Nasrallah held a press conference last week, during which he presented alleged evidence of Israel’s involvement in the killing of Rafik Hariri, including video footage he said came from Israeli Unmanned Aerial Vehicles monitoring the late former PM and the confession of a suspected spy.
Fatfat also said that Prime Minister Saad Hariri does not know the content of the tribunal’s pending indictment and cannot postpone its release.
