The media office of the detained former chief of the Lebanese General Security service, Jamil Sayyed, issued a statement on Wednesday urging the state prosecutor Saeed Mirza to demand the arrest of Khaled Taha and others "dodging trial for the crime of assassinating" former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in 2005." He added that an Al-Qaeda-inspired Islamist group led by the wanted Hassan Nabaa was responsible for the assassination of Hariri, as well as the kidnapping of Islamists from the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp, which led to recent clashes between Fatah and Islamist militants.
